It was with great excitement last Friday that we witnessed the admission to the bar of Adair Houia‑Ashwell by the Honourable Sir Justice Joe Williams KNZM at the Old High Court in Wellington.
Adair started with us in 2017 as a summer clerk and graduated from Victoria University with a conjoint degree in 2018. She spent 2019 immersed in te reo Māori at Te Wānanga o Takiura o ngā kura kaupapa Māori before returning to Kāhui Legal in February this year.
To hear te reo Māori play a prominent role in the full admission ceremony is always a moment of great pride for us but particularly befitting of Adair’s journey. Congratulations Adair.
Mauri mahi, mauri ora!
