Kāhui Legal turned 20 on 1 May 2023 and celebrated the occasion with whānau, friends, and colleagues who had worked at the firm, Ministers, Judges and clients.
Congratulations to Matanuku Mahuika and Jamie Ferguson as the founders of the firm and as one client put it “You’ve created a pipeline of Māori lawyers, who have become a High Court Judge, a District Court Judge, a Māori Land Court Judge, and others have set up their own law practice.”
Another had this to say “20th anniversary – Māori law firm that has lasted the course.”
The night was full of announcements the biggest being Matanuku and Jamie would be retiring from the partnership to become barristers, and that Stephanie Northey, Renata Davis, and Tara Hauraki would be joining the partnership. Ka pū te rūhā, ka hao te rangatahi!
A great night was had by all.
