Aperahama Hurihanganui joined our Kahui Legal whānau in 2014 as a graduate after being our first summer clerk. During his time with us, Api, as he is affectionately known, has worked on key pieces of historic work for our clients and has demonstrated a strong commitment to tikanga and te reo Māori. He is also an avid sportsman and competed in the waka ama world championships and six Iron Māori while working at Kahui.
Api’s passion for tikanga and te reo Māori means he has now chosen to work full time in his whānau business, “Engaging Well”, which delivers training in tikanga and te reo Māori.
And so it is with great sadness but absolute pride and encouragement that Kahui Legal farewell Api to pursue his passion. For us it is not farewell – Api will continue to teach te reo Māori to our staff and will remain an important part of our Kahui Legal whānau.
Ānei te mihi nunui ki a koe e Api – kia kaha, kia maia kia manawanui!
