We would like to welcome Tayla Afoa back to the Kāhui Legal whānau. Tayla is of Ngāpuhi and Te Rarawa descent and began working with us as a Summer Clerk, then Law Clerk in 2017. She graduated in 2018 with a conjoint degree in Law and Arts (double major in Philosophy and Political Science) from the University of Waikato.
Tayla is the winner of many law student competitions including the Waikato Regional Russell McVeagh Client Interviewing competition (2016), the Waikato Regional Māori Moot competition (2017), the Norris Ward McKinnon Pacific Moot competition (2018) and the MinterEllisonRuddWatts Witness Examination competition (2018). She also won the Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia in 2018 and placed first in the Asia-Pacific Arbitration competition (Vietnam). Tayla is located in our Wellington office where it is also expected that she’ll add great value to our netball team.
